Not in this case. In German a ligature must not cross the border between compound words, so here it would be Stoff with a f_f and then a normal j. I wonder about other ligatures which some providers…2 -

In case of doubt I tend towards a twin-font solution. Because: • An alternate set needs additional implementation work in a more complex font master file. Not hugely more complicated, but more work. …5
